Meet the Sheshegwaning First Nation energy team

Each individual will play an important and defined role in executing future solar epc projects within the community as taught throughout the various training activities. The skills learned through the teachings of these modules will support the community in developing further energy independence by using the knowledge and skills learned by the energy team members.

Chris is the Community Energy Champion for the Sheshegwaning Community. Chris has overseen the IEP project and works closely with all of the departments within the community. Chris and the Energy Team are being trained to be the primary caretakers of the solar systems.

Deanna Sampson

DEANNA SAMPSON

Executive Assistant & Energy Team Member for Sheshegwaning First Nation. Deanna takes are of the administration duties for the Executive Director as well as Chief and Council. Deanna has joined the Energy Team and is being trained to be one of three caretakers of the solar systems.

Gwen McLeod

GWEN MCLEOD

Gwen has been working as a summer student in the community as a story collector and coordinator. She has recently joined the Land First Youth Initiative, a group at Sheshegwaning whose vision is healing the community through empowerment. Gwen has also planted over 20,000 trees in Ontario and Manitoba.
